I have nothing but great things to say about my trip to Rome and that wasn’t only because of the history, food, and bustling streets, but the friends I reunited with and made. Kristine and Stipi are a really cute married couple from Norway. Bergen to be exact. A city that is currently in my top 5 dream places to visit. (We already discussed how it’s better than Oslo.) When I noticed that Wide in Wonder, the wedding photography business they run, would be in Rome at the same time that I was, I already knew the reason: for Way Up North! Before I left California, we planned to meet when I arrived, unfortunately a day late, due to a wedding I had to shoot before my departure. It was really funny because I found out that they met up some of my other friends, Hugo and Carmela, along with Dani and Pablo, before I arrived and they were able to connect the dots finding out that we all knew each other. I love this international community we have built and the opportunity to meet amazing people from all over the globe. Stipi, Kristine, and I spent the day after the conference venturing around the neighborhood of Trastevere together, chasing after interesting looking people and afterwards, had a long, tiring, but very tasty dinner coupled with an awesome debrief of the past couple days and fun conversation at a place called Ginger. I remember saying our goodbyes that night, walking to my hostel alone from the main station, Termini, and thinking about the next time I’ll be able to see them. I’m so thankful to have built this relationship. They are an amazing example of a marriage built on concrete, Christ-like foundations, and I can’t wait to see them in Bergen one day.
